PASIGHAT, Jan 23: A mega equipment and weapon display was organised on Monday by the 56 Artillery Bridge of Sigar under Spearhead Division at the 5th IRBn headquarter here.
The display was conducted as part of Republic Day celebrations, under ‘Know your Army’ theme which, showcased significant enhancement in the capabilities of the Armed forces.
The event showcased the military might of the Indian Army which included artillery guns, infantry weapons, weapon-locating radars, surveillance sensors, dog squad and IEDs.
Performance by cadets of Niglok Sainik School, NCC cadets and students of Pasighat Kendriya Vidyalaya captivated the audience. Information regarding career opportunity in Indian Armed forces was also provided to all students.
The event was graced by Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong, IGP Mari Riba, Brigadier Manish Kumar, Commander of Spearhead Gunners Brigade, DC Tatdo Borang and school children.
Kumar in his address motivated the youth to join Indian Armed Forces. He also apprised them about transformation and modernization of Indian Army in terms of technology, weaponry and equipment.
Kumar expressed hope that the event would instill a sense of pride, faith and confidence on the custodians of national security in the heart and minds of the local populace and motivated youths to join Indian Armed forces. (DIPRO)
